About this journal

JadeDesert is a small, hand-illustrated catalog devoted to the succulents that have travelled from arid corners of the world into our windowsills, kitchens and studios.

Each entry follows the convention of the 19th-century botanical journal: a plate, a scientific binomial, a note on origin, and a short account of history and cultivation. The intention is neither exhaustive nor academic, but quietly useful — a companion for the curious grower.

New specimens are added as they are drawn. Suggestions, corrections and cuttings are always welcome.
