The arrangement
A short note
A modest pairing for a writing desk or bedside table. The pink-flowering Christmas Cactus rises beside a juvenile Jade, both held in an heirloom teacup.
Both prefer bright, filtered light and only moderate watering. The Christmas Cactus blooms in midwinter; the Jade remains evergreen — together they keep the cup interesting year round.
Care
Bright indirect light. Keep evenly moist when in bloom; otherwise let dry.
Styling
Vintage porcelain — willow pattern, faded floral, or chinoiserie — turns two small plants into a small still life. Drill a tiny drainage hole, or layer the bottom with charcoal pebbles.
